The state has seven bear management zones. The hunt, regrettably, despite our objections, is scheduled to take place this December 2024. The Dept of Wildlife and Fisheries will distribute 10 hunting licenses through a lottery system and allow ten bears to be shot and killed (they say the hunt will be limited to larger males). The Louisiana black bear is a symbol of our state and deserves to remain protected and shielded from a premature loss of life. We ask our state to allow the black bears to enjoy their lives, free from our intrusions.   However, our work to advocate for the bears will continue. ~ Thank You All for JOINING US!  https://voicescarryforanimals.com
