http://www.virtuousmusher.com/10-years-today-history-repeats-itself/
TOPIC: A Animal Advocate voice for the unethically treated sled dogs
Many Canadians have a dog in their home which they considered part of the family and would do anything to protect their well being.
Dogs in the sled dog industry are essentially farmed but rather than being consumed, the dogs are put to work.
Experience speaks not only to the lack of animal protection laws in the farming industry, but also for peoples pets. Sled dogs and pet dogs (as well as other animals) deserve to have their rights recognized by the law in Ontario and the rest of Canada.
Educate, motivate and bring change to the current laws and regulations for the sleddog industry.
We welcome everyone to take action moving forward, to ensure that the legal system truly represents what Canadians values in regards to animal well being.

Animal Advocates Radio ”Voices Carry for Animals #271”-HELPING Captive Elephants
Thursday Jul 09, 2020
Thursday Jul 09, 2020
Hosted by Debbie Dahmer
Guests will be: Diana Munoz -Founder and Colby Steiner & Lek Chailert - Co Founders of The Gentle Giants Stay Home Project
TOPIC: Why it all began for the Gentle Giants Stay Home Project? Give captive elephants a better way of life
https://www.facebook.com/GentleGiantsStayHomeProject/
https://thegentlegiants.org/
As COVID-19 brought the tourist industry to a halt in Thailand many gentle giants and their mahouts were forced to walk back to their villages. At the trekking camps there was no more food or work for the mahouts and their elephants. It was heartbreaking to see and even harder to imagine that the gentle giants would probably be forced back to work in the illegal logging industry once they reached the villages. Facing such urgency, We were forced to put on our thinking caps; trying to come up with solutions on how to help not only the elephants from having to go back to a life of hard labor and long hours working in the tourist industry, but also their mahouts. Originally all these elephants were leased out to trekking camps so that tourist can ride on their backs, see them do circus tricks, paint etc. Life for them was sad and full of hardship. The mahouts didn't have it easy either. They worked long hours for very little pay. The new non profit Gentle Giants was born; partnering with Save Elephant Foundation (founder Lek Saengduean Chailert).
On May 3rd, 2020 after walking for 3 days a herd of 11 elephants reached their village. The Karen Tribe at Mea Chaem welcomed their elephants with open arms and so much love.

Thursday Jun 11, 2020
Thursday Jun 11, 2020
Hosted by Debbie Dahmer
Guests will be: Dahlia Canes- Director and Founder for the Miami Coalition Against Breed Specific Legislation & Lauren "NIKKI" Turner MCABSL General Counsel
https://www.facebook.com/MiamiCoalition/
http://mcabsl.com/
TOPIC: Miami Pit Bull Ban was enacted in 1989- Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) REPEAL BSL! Justice for Pit Bulls!
The Miami Coalition Against Breed Specific Legislation (MCABSL) is a non-profit organization in the State of Florida. Its mission is to eradicate Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) implementing education and awareness. BSL is a form of canine genocide, discriminating a specific breed of dog based solely on physical characteristics and myths. It is fueled by ignorance and fear.
MCABSL’s main goal is to lift the Miami Pit Bull Ban that is responsible for the thousands of innocent dogs killed by this hideous ordinance. The ordinance was enacted in 1989 as a result of an alleged Pit Bull attacking a small girl. The knee jerk reaction taken by the Miami Dade County Commission at that time was to Ban Pit Bulls in the county. This led to a slaughtering of all American Staffordshire Terriers, American Staffordshire Bull Terriers, the American Pit Bull Terriers and their mixes.
These sentient beings are voiceless on their own but their undying plea is being heard worldwide by the likes of MCABSL!
