SNN mission is to build on the inspiration of one elephant to encourage advocacy for all captive elephants.
 
The former owners of Nosey filed an appeal to this ruling which was dismissed in October, 2019.  They were also charged with criminal animal cruelty.
In December, 2020, Lawrence County officials discharged Nosey from their possession. The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee- he lawful owners of Nosey.
SNN never gave up on Nosey and won’t give up on other captive elephants. SNN work will continue as long as any elephant is forced to perform and give rides or live an unnatural life for human entertainment. We will take all actions possible until they are free. Please join us!
Captive elephants are most often held alone, forced into a solitary life that goes against the highly social nature of their species.

"Florida is one of the most important nesting habitats for several Sea Turtle species in the world. For the Loggerhead Sea Turtle, a threatened species, this is their biggest nesting habitat. For the endangered Green and critically endangered Leatherback Sea Turtles, this has become increasingly more important as their ancestral habitat is being developed and lost. Despite an estimated 12 million hatchlings being born every year, at least half die before ever reaching the ocean. The biggest threat to hatchling survival is light pollution. Despite state and federal laws specifically designed to prevent such an unsustainable death rate, nothing has ever been done to mitigate the problem.

TOPIC: The issue: The National Park Service policies for Point Reyes National Seashore, a 71,000-acre national park unit, favor private cattle operations over the welfare of wild Tule (“TOO-lee”) elk in the park.
224 Tule elk have died in just the last 2 years. 478 Tule elk have died in the last 10 years. Because the elk are fenced onto a drought-stricken, 2600-acre are, the so-called “Tule Elk Reserve" inside a 71,000-acre park.
And the cattle ranches - beef & dairy operations - don’t even own the land! They lease land from the federal govt., which is to say from the public, at half-market value - - which is why they don’t want to leave!
